It has been a long time since we experienced a baseball season without a myriad of Barry Bonds homeruns, but we are getting a taste of it now. A lot of people used to wait on the edge of their seats to watch on of those Barry Bonds homeruns just so they could ridicule him while he trotted the bases. Well, I wonder what all these people are doing now that Barry Bonds homeruns are nowhere to be found. This season is quite the example of the old adage, “You don’t know what you have till is gone”. I am willing to bet anything that even those who hated Barry with every fiber of their being are now lamenting the fact that baseball has not heard one of Barry Bonds homeruns all season long. I mean, now that he is gone, at least for now, who do they have to hate? For all the rest who still love Barry, just take heart. There is a big possibility that at some point this summer an American League team will take a chance with Barry as a designated hitter and we will all be able to listen to the distinctive popping sound of Barry Bonds homeruns once again. I don’t care if you loved him or hated him. Barry entertained all of us and the game misses such an influential icon. For now we sit and wait until a very lucky team pulls the trigger on Barry. At least we can still watch olf Barry Bonds homerun videos and remember the good times.
