The Bonds federal case has taken another turn after prosecutors said that they would amend documents filed 5 years ago having to do with his indictment. The U.S. District Court in San Francisco will change the four counts of perjury and one for obstruction of justice to something more suitable for the pending case. The indictment was placed on him after using steroids that led to Bonds record breaking homerun. It is not clear what the changes will be other then they will have “tighter language (MLB.com).”

This week the Barry Bonds homeruns court hearing decided that the charges placed on him were “replete with charges that listed multiple offenses and was hard to defend (MLB.com).” Barry Bonds record breaking homerun has still scared all MLB teams away from picking him up but maybe this change in his case will work in his favor. He wants to play in the upcoming season it just comes down to being signed. I wonder if these indictment amendments came after others in the game and other sports were accused of the same kinds of steroid use.
