Barry Bonds Homeruns Supported by Jake Peavy |

Jake Peavy is very familiar with the MLB after winning the National League Pitching Triple Crown in 2007. He recently voiced his opinions at Padres’ Spring Training in Tucson on MLB stars that have been accused of use muscle enhancers. He said that he supports Barry Bonds homeruns no matter what the circumstances were. He was quoted saying “You treat people the way you want to be treated and I certainly have respect for Barry Bonds (MLB.com)”. In other words, Bonds record breaking homerun is just as relevant no matter what substances he may have been on. As for Clemens, he said that “He’s my buddy and anybody that knows me knows I’ve got his back (MLB.com)”.
While I may not fully agree with Peavy if I was in his situation I would. Being friends and respecting these ball players as peers shines a whole different light on the situation. Players alone are aware of how wide spread steroid use has become starting in High School ball so they should be the ones to make the final decision. Peavy went onto say “he[Bonds] was the best to have ever played the game of baseball (MLB.com)” At least there is one athlete supporting Bonds record breaking homerun. Barry Bonds homeruns will forever go down in debate. |
