I know there has been talk about this for a couple of months now with nothing more than rumors but the closer the Rays get to playoff season the more they need a big bat. Barry Bonds record breaking homerun proved to the world he knew how to go yard consistently but it is up for debate how honorable it was.

Either way Bonds is deflated by now. I can’t see any steroids left in his system which will work to his advantage only if he can still crack them out of the park in practice. Having so much time off, I would think Bonds has been in the gym every day. What else does this guy have to do other then make court hearings?

In order for the Rays to compete against the big names in the east they need Barry Bonds homeruns or something like it. Finding a big hitter for cheap is impossible during this point of the season so maybe both parties will reconsider such a move....
