I was shocked when I read an article from AOL Sports that had to do with a contract offer from a minor league baseball team called the Washington Wild Things. I cannot believe that the controversy surrounding Bonds record breaking homerun could make him a free agent that could go back down to the minor leagues. You think he hits a lot of homeruns now think about how many Barry Bonds homeruns we would see if he played on a minor league team. Last season he made a reported 16 million for the Giants season.

In the contract given to him, he would make the maximum minor lead salary at 1,200 dollars a month. The Wild Things are also offering him merchandising options and get this, a host family so that he does not have to find a place to live. This is obviously nothing more than a publicity stunt to increase their team's coverage. It is truly embarrassing that Barry Bonds homeruns have brought his career to minor league contract offers.
